Jackie Merrill, a former Chicago executive and trained facilitator, founded Center Point in Aspen in 1990. This leadership programfor women and couples focuses on the challenges of fiscal inequality in romantic relationships. Other pieces of the program include financial management skills for women, development of personal mission statements, managing transitions and issues around inherited wealth. Jackie, an Aspen resident since 1986, is a trained storyteller and member of the Board of Spellbinders, a national organization founded as an inter-generational program to bring Elders into the schools as storytellers.

Jay Hughes will facilitate a panel on "The Life Stages of Flourishing Families" incorporating his work on Elders, both as story tellers and as familymediators, with the speaker presentations.
James E.Hughes, Jr., Esq., a resident of Aspen, Colorado, is the author of Family Wealth: Keeping It in the Family and Family— The Compact Among Generations, published by Bloomberg Press as well as numerous articles on family governance and wealth preservation and a series of reflections which can be found on his website jamesehughes.com. Mr.Hughes, now retired from the practice of law, was the founder of a law partnership in New York City, Hughes and Whitaker, specializing in the representation of private clients throughout the world. He frequently facilitatesmulti-generational family meetings with a special emphasis on governance issues. Mr.Hughes has spoken frequently at numerous international and domestic symposia on the avoidance of the shirtsleeves to shirtsleeves proverb and the growth of families’ human, intellectual, social and financial capitals toward their families’ flourishing.

John A. Warnick is a senior partner in the Denver office of Holme Roberts & Owen LLP, and chairs the firm’s Individuals, Trusts and Family Business practice group. He spends approximately twenty percent of his professional life facilitating family retreats and providing wealth counseling and fiduciary consulting services. He particularly enjoys what he describes as "Beneficiary Preparation": educating, training and mentoring adolescents and emerging adults in financial literacy, philanthropic service, and holistic family wealth principles.

With special interest in lifestyle issues and the health and wealth of families David is also a recognized expert in geriatric psychology, intergenerational communication, and extended life expectancy. David is a managing director and the medical director of Marsh Private Client Life Insurance Services in Woodland Hills, California. A recognized leader in the integration and evaluation of medical issues as a key element in the health and wealth planning process, David pioneered a new risk management protocol in the underwriting of life insurance that has become the hallmark of his approach and success.
